Valentin’s cellos are exceptional. His innate understanding of what a musician needs and wants from an instrument is a testimony to not only his craftsmanship, but also his acute awareness of his clients sensibilities as both a musician and individual.
As a chamber musician, I was looking for an instrument with depth of sound and colour that could both project, but not overpower an ensemble. Without explaining this to Valentin I feel he found this balance perfectly in my cello. As soon as I played it I knew that this was going to be a long and happy partnership.
I celebrate Valentin’s skill and vision and I look forward to meeting other instruments that he builds in the future.
